We are seeking potential volunteers who would like to lead various discussion groups with our patients, such as book or movie reviews, travel and experience abroad, and other topics of interest. This volunteer will prepare materials for discussion; gather information on a particular topic of interest and facilitate a discussion with patients. Life Enhancement Coordinators are available to help.
A game leader will facilitate and set up for the particular game of choice with our patients. This may include overseeing Scrabble, Canasta, Bridge, Rummy, and Boggle while patients participate in the game, helping a patient that might need extra assistance, and/or playing alongside patients as well as monitoring safety of patients.
Is responsible for setting up and monitoring a weekly movie for patients; watches for safety of patients during movie; assist with transport.
A wheelchair transporter/wheel mate will bring patients to and from activities, special events, and walks around campus. They will assist patients by either pushing their wheelchair or walking next to someone with a walker for safety. Staff is always on hand to answer any question regarding the patients and whereabouts. Training for proper wheelchair transportation safety and techniques will be provided.
