Near Surry, Chippokes Plantation has been a working farm since 1619. The park has tours of its antebellum mansion and formal gardens. The Chippokes Farm & Forestry Museum (antique farm and forestry equipment) is located within its boundaries. Other features include a swimming pool, visitor center, interpretive programs, playgrounds, hiking, biking, horseback riding and picnicking. Rental cottages. 33 campsites. One Camp Host position, one Park Host position (specialized skill required, such as plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, IT, landscaping, etc.); March-November. 30-day min. and 60-day max. Water, electric and sewer hookups for Camp Host; water and electric for Park Host; park provides Blue Boy. Maximum RV length 50 feet. Volunteer Host hours & duties vary based on park needs. Host will be trained upon arrival at the campground by the park's on-site Host Coordinator.
