Smith Mountain Lake in Bedford County is Virginia's second largest freshwater lake; the park is a water enthusiast's paradise. The park offers swimming, boat rentals, a boat ramp, a fishing pier, hiking trails, picnicking, a visitor center, an amphitheatre and special programs. There's also a golf course nearby. Rental cabins and 50 campsites, 25 of which are primitive. One camp Host Position, March-October; 30-day min. and 60-day max. Water, electric and sewer hookups. 50 amp service. Maximum RV length 50 feet. Volunteer Host hours & duties vary based on park needs. Host will be trained upon arrival at the campground by the park's on-site Host Coordinator.
